zero true waste, made in a certified zero waste facility

True Zero Waste Certification

In 2014, Bronco Wine Co. set its sights on achieving Zero Waste Certification. To qualify for this designation, a company must divert 90% or more of their solid waste stream from landfill. To accomplish this, we collect and recycle from our offices, cellars, warehouses, bottling lines, maintenance and grape crushing facilities.

To further help reduce our consumption of natural resources we focus on minimizing materials in our packaging design through innovations such as ultra-light weight glass, shortened case partitions and agglomerated corks. These efforts have paid off as our landfill diversion rate in 2023 was 99.71% and Bronco Wine Co. has proudly achieved Zero Waste Certification at all four of our facilities.

vineyard Stewardship

Respect for the land is the cornerstone of how quality wines are produced. Bronco Wine Co.’s farming division, WC Ag Services, Inc., utilizes both CCOF Organic Farming qualified practices and sustainable vineyard management practices to produce thriving vineyards. Our approach to maintaining successful vineyards focuses on three crucial elements:
Soil Health: cover crops are used between vine rows to add nutrients, provide erosion control, and attract beneficial insects. Compost is added to our vineyards for improved water holding capacity.
Biodiversity: a focus on natural solutions to protect trees for owls, falcons and other predators that help reduce the presence of rodents. Read Article
Vineyard Water Management: water conservation is employed by implementing and calculating weekly ETO (evapotranspiration) data allowing our team to reduce water usage by up to 25%.

Since the inception of our rail car use, we have diverted the equivalent of 4.5 million trucking miles from our roadways.

Our shipping fleet is 100% CARB compliant and 87% of this fleet uses renewable fuel. Bronco Wine Co. has a perpetual matrix to update our entire trucking fleet to help in the reduction of carbon emissions.
