About 1749 by Pierre Chainier

Established in 2009 │ A Maison Pierre Portfolio Brand │ Loire, France

1749 Winery produces two French varietals, a signature Loire Sauvignon Banc and Rosé in screw cap closure, established in 2009 to commemorate 260 years of winemaking by the Chainier family, Pierre Chainier introduced 1749 Sauvignon Blanc.

This wine represents the best value possible for a Sauvignon Blanc from the AOC Vin de Pays du Val de Loire. This classic wine of the Loire exhibits dry, zesty and lemony citrus aromas, with citrus fruit on the palate. And our new 1749 Rosé de France is a light, delicate, dry rosé bursting with raspberry, strawberry and cherry notes. All the best from our château to yours!

Welcome to Maison Pierre Chainier. Our family-run business dates back to the 1960s, but our winemaking roots run deep—to the mid-18th century in the Bordelais region and the early 20th century in Cognac. Today, we are centered in the historic town of Amboise, along the banks of the Loire. As wine merchants, we specialize in providing the best Loire wines from Sancerre to the Muscadet region. As winemakers, we focus on our estates in the Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée (AOCs) of Vouvray, Touraine Amboise and Touraine along the Cher River, home to the best Sauvignons.

A combination of terroir and heritage makes the Val de Loire a truly special place, infused with history. The Loire Valley, in the heart of France, is the 3rd largest wine-growing region in the country, with 70 appellations and over 68 million bottles exported annually. The region is also the premier winegrowing AOC for white wines in France—primarily Melon de Bourgogne, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties.

As the largest family-owned wine company in the Loire, we distribute to over 35 countries and have ISO, HACCP and BRC certifications. Our family estates include Chateau de la Roche, Chateau de Poce, Clos de Nouys and Roc de Châteauvieux.

We invite you to taste the Grand Wines of the Loire!
